  • I have been using dirt cheap Michelin Wild Run R 1.4" wire bead tires for a month commuting. So far they are faultless, especially for the price...

  • It was kinda sketchy slippery XC fun

Not really one for the AM bike tbh

  • Noice noice. Sunday's is Aston Hill days.

  • That's what I thought, will probably give it a skip then.

  • You heading up?

  • Can I go mountain byking with sum1?

  • cum 2 epping

  • Come to Epping tomorrow.

    Or swinley whenever...

    Got a bike?

  • Got one on the way, should be built by the weekend.... Il keep you posted... Never ridden an MTB properly before. YOLOLOL

  • Go up with a few people most Sundays if it ain't hammering it down. Turns a bit dodgy for my liking if slick. Away for a couple of weeks from this Sunday, but as soon as back, it's business as usual. That or Hardtail hooning around Surrey/Epping.

  • Sweet, what you got?

  • Sounds good dude, be good to catch up.

  • i'll bring the tuna sandwiches!!!
and plenty of boiled beef and LYCRA!

  • Kinesis MaxLight FF29, rigid at the moment!

  • Last minute but I'll be riding around Epping from around 1pm today.

  • For sells?

  • Got some a Deore brake set and Rotor's for sells? And loads of spare bars / stems?

  • Guessing these rims won't be strong enough for a 75kg dude on a hardtail who likes to do a lot of jumping and dropping?
Still struggling to resist at the price... Maybe buy a spare for when I pringle one...

  • Really? They're relatively narrow and at 500g they're not exactly race-weight. Plenty of spoke holes too...

  • barely 12 stone - they'll be fine, start to worry about heavy duty rims when you are closer to 100kg or terrible at riding a bike

They're mainly cheap because they aren't tubeless ready or lightweight

  • closer to 100kg or terrible at riding a bike

    Bugger.

  • I was gonna say - I'm 75kg and thought that was pretty fucking light!?! Giving me a weight complex here throwing about worries like that!!

  • And yeah that's a bloody bargain!!!!

  • Well lots of encouragement so will probably go for them at that price. I guess I am nervous because I have have a similar weight 26 rear at the moment, and I have fucked it pretty bad trying to whip jumps and landing a bit squirly, kind of thought a 27.5 might be weaker for the weight. Will probably take the plunge based on price anyway.

Should say I am rock climber more than a cyclist, and we are even more obsessed with weight!

Edit: but should also say I wasn't saying 75kg was a lot, just giving info cos that would have probably been the next question.

  • Revolution bike park in Wales looks awesome:
