thanks, will check it out... it says winter sales open 15th Oct...
trying to get cheap as poss as http://www.thetrainline-europe.com/ states a 45% discount if you book early, but nothing for christmas is up yet...

I used SNCF recently. They have a euro wide page. The prices were the same as buying domestically for me (Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany). So it was simpler using one rather than three sources, more than anything else.
