Cateye Volt series works well for me, can't really fault it apart from I'd prefer a more permanent mount that Flextight. Can't say how well they'll perform in the woods, but seem to have got decent reviews on MTBR.

Doesn't that look like you're constantly indicating.

Knog Blinder Road 3 works fine off-road. Comes with two strap sizes so you could use the "standard" strap on oversize bars for security.

One of the big dick Exposure lights sounds about right.

My Cateye Volt did start to jump off on hitting potholes after ca 1 year. The light is held in by a tab on the light itself which clips into the mount. Over time this wore down and is now useless as a bike light but makes a good torch.
My Exposure Strata is superb. It's mount is perfect; there is no budging that light.

Does anyone have experience, positive or negative or neutral, with the Moon Nebula rear? I hate motorists and want to destroy their retinae in the most cost-effective way possible, plus I like the shape.

I was thinking about those when I couldn't find any Aldi specials, no first hand experience though.

Ask me next year, I'm thinking of getting one. The Comet and Crescent have been good for me, can't see why the Nebula won't live up to that reputation.

Night riding. Wtf is it with 1 million lumens on bikes on the other side of the road? And flashing? Cunt off.

Even better on narrow country lanes, thunder*nts

Throwing out a million lumens and seeing what sticks is much cheaper to make and easier to market than actually designing some proper optics which will place the light where the rider needs it.

I could do with some suggestions...
I am trying to fit a B&m lumotec onto my pinnacle arkose.
The arkose is drilled under the fork crown to mount mudguards and what-not. My plan was to use this to mount the mudguard and light but the horizontal section of the light's mounting bracket is too short to reach where the hole is under the fork crown.
I have tried bodging an extension using some left over sks brackets but no luck.
So can anyone suggest any solutions other than mounting the light direct to the mudguard?

Get some threaded rod , fix thru the hole in the fork with a nut either side. Have the rod extending forward of the fork.
Fit an additional two nuts on the threaded rod to hold the light in place. A 300mm length of rod is a couple of quid plus 4 nuts .

Have the rod extending forward of the fork.
Not easy when it's the bottom of @fidbod 's fork crown which has the drilling.
Some sort of L-shaped bracket would do the job, depending on the level of tartiness required that could be as simple as a strip of steel with a hole each end and a bend in the middle.

@mdcc_tester thanks for pointing out the obvious, B&q or clerkenwell screws beckon.

Another +1 for the knog blinder road. Makes a great backup for my big front light but also perfectly decent on its own.
Battery life is reasonable, the mount seems robust and the price is right. -

I have the Knog Blinder, only grip is how you charge them don't always seem to fit into a charger because of the fittings on the back.
Also could any suggest a rear light for a Giant seat post, it's one of them tapered ones so normally the light ends up swing round and lighting my leg?

Could you use sugru to build a shim which would stop the light turning.

Good point, and a great excuse to order some.

Moon LX70 has swappable wedge blocks to suit different seat post profiles
I need a front light that will work both on and off road, unlit lanes and in the woods. I have a lezyne something or other which is plently bright enough but jumps ship whenever it see's a pothole. Preferably without an external battery pack, with usb charging, and with a solid mounting system that can easily swap between bikes. Any ideas?
