  • I think those two are part of the same plan. I'll call it plan B.

  • Finished my beer and realized I have a bag full of a weeks dirty laundry.

    Crisis adverted.

And now I have a bottle opener.

  • One is steel and one is alu.

Cheap alu will get weaker the more you used it, whether steel held it shape, even can be bend to make it a snug fit.

It's something I choose when I have the bottle mounted underneath the downtube.

  • Blackburn do a perfectly decent stainless one for £12.

  • Defo worth saving the fiver or so.

  • King cages. Myth busted?

    Who cares.

In other news, am I right in thinking Condor does Gore stuff - specifically bib shorts?

  • Anyone bought one of those two-up bike stands that Aldi are flogging for 30 quid? Any good?

  • Are they back again? I need something like that.

  • Any suggestions for good waterproofs?

I have some but they are a bit shit, more into leggings/trousers that will work well.

  • Am becoming a big paramo advocate. They have directional wicking fleeces which if combined with their breathable windproof jackets act as a waterproof.

Am hoping they'll soon do a similar solution for bottom half.

  • Top half is easy can go into most places and come out with something that works, bottom half not so much.

  • Have a pair of eVent overtrousers made by endura, which were great in terms of waterproofing and fairly breathable

  • Are cork handlebar grips durable, or do they end up all grimy and cracked?

  • I think it depends which brand, and over at RBW they shellac their cork.
They look pretty weird, but I like the Ergon grips and some of their models come with cork "in the mix".

  • best website to book a couple of train journeys in Europe? specifically Vienna-->Prague and Prague-->Berlin

    thanks

  • I used SNCF recently. They have a euro wide page. The prices were the same as buying domestically for me (Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany). So it was simpler using one rather than three sources, more than anything else.

  • thanks, will check it out... it says winter sales open 15th Oct...

trying to get cheap as poss as http://www.thetrainline-europe.com/ states a 45% discount if you book early, but nothing for christmas is up yet...

  • Not got a direct answer, but this site is really useful for finding out about train travel around Europe
    http://www.seat61.com/

  • Best free thing to download a video off YouTube right now?

  • There are plenty of Chrome extensions that should do what you need...

  • I tried the first one that came up ("Video Downloader professional") which was cack.

The interface was baffling and after I'd clicked around a bit I got a big popup saying chrome has disabled all downloading of videos from YouTube anyway. Soz! But imploring me to "please don't rate us bad".

    Investigating...

  • keepvid.com

If you can't stream rip, there's always screen recording. Autodesk Screencast Recorder seems pretty simple to use.

  • Appears you have to go into developer mode to install/enable it...

I'm on a work PC and I'm not gonna risk it for the moment.
