Something just slashed the fuck out of my GP4000SII sidewalls, which is EXTREMELY annoying considering I'm not sure I've covered 1000km on it.
Should I replace it with another GP4000 25, or get a 27c Open Pave for the Winter?
Obviously ideal world, I'd get another GP for summer and a set of Open Paves' for the oncoming grimness, but I am super super broke at the moment so can only really afford one.
TBF, GP4000sII are still excellent tyres, but they also suffer from the same vulnerable sidewall that made the tyres feel amazing and comfortable to ride.
Go for whichever you can afford (GP or OP in 25mm).
