ldn video thoughts?

I dig a skate or snow shred video, I've got to do more shread-video-watching for research obvs!

In terms of logistics, if we're talking one video, lots of cuts and disciplines, it'll be 1 or 2 max sound tracks.
+1 for cargo bike, gear and filming too...or someone on the back of a tandem.

Night filming is difficult, to get good quality footage without mega-bucks equipment, somewhere with lots of light and not much movement, ie. track-stands somewhere.

From personal experience the best way to film shredding is either cruiser skateboard/longboard for close up shredding and back of a van for other stuff.
Also +1 for pedalo shredding. Can one whipskid a pedalo?

I don't know if that's actually even OK, that sign out the front of hhv is quite clear about no photography without permission ha, I don't want to get anyone caught in the frame that doesn't want to be there. Maybe I'll try and just catch you as you go past me!

Im sure if you just speak to someone they'd be ok with you having a camera and filming. But sure, happy to be experimented on. I'll try to get lapped as i go past you so it'll look like i'm racing the fast people

Just wanna make a few trying-to-be-helpful observations wrought out of many many tearful hours behind a camera and in an edit suite...
For the best chance of looking ace, this needs a simple and clear vision. Understandable that people want lots of riders in many locations doing different things, but that takes an awful lot of time and organisation. It would be easier and more realistic to schedule in a couple of packed shoot days where everyone can give it 100%, than to ask people to film segments in dribs and drabs. We'd also keep consistency with the quality of footage and the look of the film this way.
Loads of ideas are awesome, but once the shoot is planned we'll need one person with a strong directorial vision to execute the thing... otherwise the edit will be a nightmare, believe me! You'd be amazed how often even professional promos/telly etc gets this wrong.
And from long experience of internet - best way is to do it simpler, faster. Overcomplicating and getting really ambitious kinda harms the goodwill and enthusiasm.

i think the best thing for us to do next is mull this over at a ladies drinks (mull being the operative word; it is nearing The Season for Mulled Things) and make an agenda. fewer ideas, but strong points. like you said, then we can split it into one day and one evening of filming (or even, dare i say, two days if people can spare the time) and smash it out. i totally agree with what you said but have nowhere near the level of experience required to have come up with it.

Also, I remember something about... insert #csb working on a film once and having to run around getting the public to sign release forms
Depends how srsbsns you intend it to be, I guess, it was a large indie company for an international release, so getting people to sign release forms might not apply here.
