  • That's the problem - there really aren't the number and quality of employers outside of London that there need to be.

    Sure - there is work, but in the vast majority of cases it's not going to pay as much, be for as good a company, have prospects for advancement etc etc.

    What the requirement for HS2 screams out is that our offices are in the wrong place for the people who live around Brum.

    Spend that 200 Billion pounds on moving parliament to Birmingham, which should take care of the cultural and restaurant trade developing up there, plus give inducements to business to upsticks and move North, and the requirement for HS2 vanishes.

  • I know politicians aren't too popular right now, but moving them to Birmingham is a bit harsh surely?

  • I suspect it would only encourage HS2 so they could get in and out as quickly as possible.
