I've recently switched completely to Shimano mtb system, xt on the cxommutourer, m520 on fixed and m324 on rack bike. The only thing to watch for is that you get the single release cleats, not the multi release (which seem to come with most of the pedals) retention/security is equally as solid as Atac, and they seem more stable. Can't believe all the hysteria around Shimano mtb pedals, work excellent on the fixed and on everything else.
Looking forward to long cleat life too.
