Chains on a fixed gear transmission elongate basically when starting and stopping. 50x13 is a very tough ratio and you probably need to push pretty hard when starting from a red light, so that´s where elongation comes from.

Actually let put it this way, if you have to stand up every time you start off, the gearing is way too high.
