Cheers! Was gunning for sub-2:30, and on pace at halfway in 1:14:37, but what with the marathon being a bloody long way and everything, just struggled to keep it together when things got tough. Still, over a minute off the PB and I couldn't have run any faster. Serious gurn time running under the Brandenburg Gate with 200 metres to go. I love Berlin!
fantastic time!
I was out there cheering as I couldn't run, but only arrived just in time to catch the 3h10 runners come through km37 where my pals from run pack had their cheerzone (confetti, many many signs & sound system all setup on a wide corner).
the medical people at the exop got me a guaranteed deferral to next year but only get 30euro off the re-registration fee. not sure if I'll do it though as have a place in chicago the month after.

Thanks all. @HatBeard my club mate ran a PB on a deferred entry this year. Good luck if you take it up... Chicago's on my bucket list as I'd love to do the Majors. (Only two down so far though.)
@Doctor_Cake - We watched the skaters come past 16k as we were strolling around on the Saturday. Jeez, those guys were shifting.Currently mulling over whether to race London next year and see if I can chip off those 31 seconds. I'm not putting myself through all that again just to miss out on a PB though.
