    Gloria Gaynor: i will survive
    ABBA: Mamma mia
    Bee Gees: Stayin Alive
    Boney M: Rivers of Babylon

  • I'm starting to feel sorry for you Marco.

Are you becoming more unstable? Do you have someone (IRL) to talk to about things?

  • Were any of those artists gay? Can music even be gay? No mention of Elton John who I'm sure wouldn't be offended to be described as gay.

My friend's child said my shoes were 'well gay' but what the fuck does a 4yr old know about brogues. Bitch.

  • Maybe if the thread had been titled camp music/guilty pleasures then it would have been accepted.

Can the pitch fork brigade be directed toward the ignore function as a way of resolving their objection to marcom (who can come across as a bit of a tosspot at times, naive at others and pleasant in between).

Oh, and about those tags, I'll ask later.

  • Maybe the title "Music from gay culture" or somerhing similar would have been less controversial.

  • Mind reader.

  • Maybe if the thread had been titled camp music/guilty pleasures then it would have been accepted.

That probably would have got past everyone just fine TBH.

  • So does the pitchfork brigade believe that he meant to offend or will any representatives come on here and accept that it was probably just shit English.

  • Carousel of concern; how is your insomnia?

  • Maybe if the thread had been titled camp music

  • I was expecting ging gang goolie but that will do.

  • Merde liberalite person.

  • I listen to gaydar when at home with my daughters, as it has the best music for them to dance to (2 and 4 years old). Interestingly there is a large amount of cross over between certain playlists on gaydar and Magic FM, the bastion of middle England intolerance, which raises an interesting question: Is 'Relax' by Frankie goes to Hollywood gay when played on gaydar, and straight when listened to on Magic? To settle this argument once and for all Marcom, from now on I will record all of the overlapping segments of Magic and gaydar and edit them in to set pieces, but maintaining both the original ad's and presenters for each prospective station.

I will then raise my daughters completely separately of each other, possibly in separate houses, maybe different continents. One will be played Magic, the other gaydar. If the one that has been listening to gaydar goes over to 'the dark side' you will have been proven right, and music can be gay. It can also give you gayness, and probably AIDS as well.

Alternatively, you're an idiot. However, only time will tell. I will report back in 20 years with conclusive proof either way.

  • It's not the music that makes "gay", it's "gay" that choose their music. Save yourself twenty years of your genius.

  • What do bisexuals listen to?

  • The best of both.

  • Every week I used to go to a gay night in Leeds and they'd play All I Want for Christmas is You all year round. It was top.

  • £1 entry, £1 drinks.

  • Unisex toilets. Lots of drugs being took. I had to bat the older gents off with a stick.

I'm married now, to a lady.

  • This probably explains why some of my friends are very depressed. They're straight, so naturally they don't listen to anything upbeat or fun.

  • You never meet a gay person who admits to liking shoegazing bands.

  • It's not the music that makes "gay", it's "gay" that choose their music. Save yourself twenty years of your genius.

Don't be such a fucking bellend. People listen to the music they like irrespective of their sexuality.

Some of my gay friends/family listen to camp/showtunes, the majority do not. Some of my straight friends listen to camp/showtunes, the majority do not. The 'gay' descriptor does not correlate with the listening habits.

  • The only person I know who likes shoegaze is gay so that's that theory fucked.

  • ^^^ I'd introduce you to my brother if he didn't live in the depths of Lincolnshire.

(to prove shoegaze liking, not to set you up)

  • There's always an exception to prove the rule.
