  • I'd go straight to the police.

  • Already have, interview is scheduled tonight.
@aggi, that looks good, the DVLA do a similar thing as well (thanks @timbre) but they both cost money. Better to get the fuzz to do it.

  • Hope it goes well. Look like you are on it, though because of some of the recent posts, and any potential new people on here, worth reminding everyone to (re-) read this:

What to do in case of an accident.

  • I (re)read that as I was dragging my bike over to the workshop to check I'd done everything. He's now trying to say I was going too fast. On a bicycle.

  • Too fast for him to be able to see you as he was joining a road where you had priority? Yeah, ok then. Going at lightspeed, were you?

  • A good warp 3 according to my cycle computer. Wish I'd strava'd it!
I would say 12-15mph, I'd just come over a vicious speed bump.

  • So now he's realised the consequences of his actions instead of owning up, he's going on the attack. Throw the book at him.

  • It's going to be a long one. I'm not waiting for him to pay for my repairs, so will just pay myself. If I'm going to claim off his insurance how many estimates for the repairs should I get? TLCW has done one (and still have the bike), should I just get their estimate and take it to somewhere else and get them to put their numbers in?

  • have you established that he indeed has insurance?

    /have not read entire thread

  • To the dry lunch in the white van who called me a 'tossy cycle wanker' for no reason other than my being in front of him at the lights, your great grandkids must be really proud of you, you old minge

  • I haven't yet no, I only have his name and contact number, he didn't give me his address/insurance details. It was going to be one of my questions to the police. I can look it up for a small sum of money, it may be what I need to do in the end.

  • Pretty sure you need two independent estimates. I'd go to a big chain for the other quote.
    But yeah, don't give up.

  • If he hasn't got insurance then the cops will be even more interested

  • Indeed. He definitely can't squirm out of that.
@photoben, meaning I need to drag my bike over to a completely different shop for them to look at it too? Such faff. This will be the first and last time an Evans mechanic ever touches a bicycle of mine...

  • i see this point has been made clear by you in previous posts. i am not helping. goodbye.

  • It's ok, don't be sad! Any input is useful input.

  • I will be using dry lunch as an insult as much as possible from now on.

    Thanks

  • but do have his number plate. Any suggestions on how to work with only that?

Form v888 & get the name and address of the registered keeper.

Then sue him for the £2.50 fee for teh lulz.

  • Seemingly collecting a rego number of some close passing dickhead every ride. Maybe I need to get some OCR on a helmetcam and automate the fuckwit reporting process..

  • Got my shoelace caught up in my pedal/chain today. Thankfully I was going up hill at my usual nodder pace so was able to stop and rectify issue. Managed to sting myself on some nettles in the process, smooth! Jewson builders lorry gave me a lovely <1m pass at about 50mph, too slow/busy swearing to get the plate.

However, weather was too nice for it to be anything other than a 8/10 ride wise.

  • Overtaken by a FAST motherfucker last night.

Young, wearing camo lycra shorts and a black hipster looking jersey. Riding a mirror-shiny silver GT. Caught up with him at lights and thought "is that Tao Geography Hart?" He had tats on each calf - just two rings of stars.

I've never seen anyone blast bast me like that.

  • Odd one today. Prat on his phone near pulled out on me near Finsbury Circle. He stopped and I went past giving him the rolling eyes look. He catches up to me and asks if were cool and implies that I should thank him for letting me pass. Nobber.

Otherwise a very clear and sunny ride in. Not many other bikes on the road between Highgate and Bishopsgate - odd. 7.5/10

  • Strange behavior yesterday... nodder behind me, and I strongly suspected he was going to undertake me (I don't cycle near the kerb for reasons obv. to his forum) so many dirty looks dished out. Lovely sunny otherwise and security guy said he saw me blasting past while he was stuck in a traffic jam. Didn't feel like blasting with a 15mph headwind... ;)

edit:spotted Fixed and no foot retention one today, ah, with good trends come all the bad things too... didn't they learn here from LFGSS? :P

  • Pedengering yesterday lunchtime and was waved across the road by the Batmobile on Kensington High Street.

  • Yesterday lunchtime you say.
    Dinner dinner dinner dinner batman.
