You got the green slip from the registration document, yes?
You go to the Post Office, fill out a form for a new registration document and tax it there and then. I think a new reg doc is £25.
Check in the P.O. but I think I'm right.edit I now see green slip went too. That shouldn't matter. I think the new reg doc form takes this into account.
Partner bought a new car at the weekend.
Tax expires in a few days. The vendor sent all the registration documents to the dvla including the new owner slip. Dvla won't allow parter to tax it as she is not the registered owner but as we have notified them they are also not letting the previous owner tax it. They are saying we now have to wait 4-6 weeks for the registration to complete before we can tax it and we have to get it off the road in the meantime. Any suggestions as to how to get them to release the new keeper number so we can tax it?
