Armistead looks in a bind. How did the break get away? Did any other country miss it?

They snuck off the front. The absence of a top tier favourite meant that none of the others reacted and suddenly a group of 8, with all the strongest teams represented, was away. Armitstead has no team mates left to chase so has to rely on another nation to chase.
