  • Meh.
Im not one for needing to see loads of data.
Plus this way I only need to learn to use one device.

  • that's cool!

I worry about quick release garmins on the swim of a tri, know a few people who have lost their's at the start of a race...

I haven't come up with a solution other than have one garmin mounted on the bike and another on the wrist but it obviously is losing me cool and aero points..

  • Mine seems to sit tight.
Might try and sneak it under the wrist of my wetsuit. It's pretty soft there.

For tt/tri use i now have the stem face opening free to route my extension shifters. Plus I can adjust that mount so that the garmin sits 15mm or so further forward. Which makes it easier to see.

But mainly I'm just happy it's central. The lack of space on the enve bars meant the k-edge put the garmin 2mm to the left. That's enough to drive a man crazy!

  • @Smallfurry
Did you have a dash stage?

  • No.
I wanted one. Still do. But grabbed a tritone instead. Together with the enve clip ons it was just more than I could afford.

The tritone works well for tri position.

My hope was that the Stage might do both tri and road.

  • Yeah it should do both, my ISM attack does.

Really want to try a dash but cash money. As you say.

  • There were some nice ones on Ebay. Not exactly cheap. But cheaper.

Then the Norwegian kroner collapsed, and the standard import handling fee doubled. So it just got silly.

The Tritone is nice. But the wide rear doesnt make much sense. It widens far far too steeply. Not an issue when you're using it properly. But annoying if you sit up for a steep hill.

  • They're 300usd or 300gbp

    Not paying 300gbp!

I'd suggest an attack, mine worked fine, but there is too much padding on it for me.

  • If I could replace my road and tri saddles with a single saddle that hit the sweetspot. I'd jump on one.

Bet I could sell my carbon tritone, and carbon smud for a decent amount of that.

But as I'd get stung for 25% local VAT, 230 kroner in fees, and probably pay 15% due to horrible exchange rate. I cant really risk not liking it.

Plus the Smud works brilliantly for me.
I have a feeling the Tritone will too with a thinner triathlon pad.

  • What happened to the steerer?

  • Using a Pro Tharsis stem.
You tighten the top bolt, then screw a headset adjuster downwards. Then tighten the lower bolt. Except it looks to me like the bolts dont line up and pinched the steerer badly. Its been like this all season. Might drip some low viscosity epoxy in there to sure it up. Current I have an inch long metal bung in there to support it.

  • That stem removes the need for a bung. But I have the one that came With the frame in there now. Its a beast of a thing. So loong as the delamination doesnt spread Beyond it I should be fine.
