Well, I was curious to see it for myself having followed the debacle in thross's thread. I got it for not much money and had planned to see a man about some welding. But now that it doesn't seem fucked after all I'll ride it for a bit and see what's what.

This year's L'Eroica bike almost done. Gazelle Champion Mondial 1975.

Anybody here seen this chainset before btw? Gran Sport with BCD 116, managed to find a set of Miche 48/35 chainwheels for it, so I'll be spinning all Froomey like up Monte Sante Marie (in theory that is)

Victory and Triomphe were 116mm pcd, it's almost as though Campag invented the currently fashionable 'semi-compact' some 30 years ago :-)

Can I suggest a different front wheel? It's not the period than starfish and Ambrosio disc.

My rebuilt 1990 Corsa Extra (frameswitch 58 cm to 56 and replaced the '94 Chorus that was on it by a '91 C-Record) near completion and a new project started:

@Shame Indeed not strange for Campy per se, but strange for the Gran Sport model. I also have a Gipiemme chainset with the same bcd but those are indeed the only ones I know of.

Specialités TA was of course way ahead of the game in the 1960s or even earlier, offering anything from 40 to 54 teeth outers and inners from 26 to 50 teeth.

Bit of tweaking to the bike (wheelset, stem/bars) = bike's feeling pretty dialled in...Had a cracking afternoon at the velodrome today... 1st time on the boards having only ever ridden at Herne Hill.
... all in super happy.

FYI @mdcc_tester they were fine with 170mm cranks given the higher bb. They compared the pedal spindle height to a hire bike and luckily it was spot on. Also hai @BigH !!
