Bikes you lusted over as a kid...

Same again about that age, I remember my dad not letting me have one because apparently they were dangerous with big bars and small front wheel!

This was another dream bike, I ended up getting one for my 12th birthday! 2005 Kona stuff

My mtb riding has never needed one of these bikes but I still really want one..

The obvious as a young lad, Chopper, Grifter, anything that was too big for me. By the time I was old enough for "racers" I was wetting myself over crazy concept bikes. I distinctly remember this monstrous beast:

I wanted the matt grey and fluoro Marin mtbs. My google fu is weak today, I wanted the pink and grey one.

I pretty much lusted after all the Marins of that era, my dad had a Bolinas Ridge when I was little which was swiftly stolen and replaced by the insurance company by an awful Dawes. /csb etc

I got a change of heart last minute and went for a road bike, which made me happy whizzing past all the MTBs with their heavy knobblies (euph?).

^^^^^ ^^ I missed out on that exact Saracen Kili Ultra Ti last year, was on Retrobike for £700 ish and against the owners wishes was split up and sold for parts! My dream 90's mtb before Saracen went tits up.

I started to lust on it at 10, at 12 I got it with a friend of mine, he was 13. We paid 50/50 and we alternate the riding one day each. Our parents did'n want to buy this kind of danger, so we make and stole money where we can and we bought a second hand one, when some of our parents see us and ask what's that? The answer was: it's not mine, he's the owner!

I started mountainbiking in 1991 and in those days, these were thé bikes I had posters from hanging on my wall.

^ That last one reminds me of Funk MTBs (can't see whether it is on tiny screen, but paint looks a bit tame). They were rad too - fat, rigid forks!

YES M8. Lusted so hard for a Mongoose #BMXbandits. Eventually got one in black and chrome.

This thread brings back memories of bikes in MBUK that I could never afford as a teenager. Flouro Marins and orange Oranges (Yo dawg!), The square tubed Pace frames like the one Dammit posted. I always quite fancied a Kona Humuhumunukunukuapua'a too.
