Never seen a grin like that before on Vasily!

Has anyone else found the coverage/ set up etc of Richmond feel pretty sterile so far. Hoping the atmosphere is a little livelier for Saturday/Sunday

Lets hope the road races have far better coverage ! Amateur at best. If someone went for a long one you would not even know until they came into the shopping mall car park.

Any particular reason Martin was so far down the field by his own standards?

well, yes, but so was Dumoulin, plus he had a Vuelta in the legs. I don't think that's the only reason

"From the start and in the first eight kilometres I felt okay and that I had the power but when I entered the tailwind section I quickly lost my rhythm. It was too fast for me and I couldn’t handle the RPM and I didn’t expect this. Then on the uphill sections I couldn’t find my rhythm and I lost morale. I couldn’t get it back and it wasn’t my day. For the second half of the race it was more of a mental problem than a physical one."

He was only third in the TT in the Tour du Poitou-Charente, so clearly not on his usual form. Dumoulin has been having muscle troubles. Dennis punctured, but wasn't quite on the pace before that.

Dumoulin was having butt troubles... Not as bad as Martin though ;-) he's just a masochist I guess, insisting on griptaping his saddle

That's just wrong. Great credit to Kiriyenka, he certainly had the form and the Rainbow Stripes are well deserved for a 34 year old with a career spent for the most part in the service of others

Mate just mentioned Heppie spewing at the line. Looks like I'll have to watch it all now :)

There's a terrible ten minute highlight reel on YouTube which I was forced to watch this morning as I was too snuggly in bed last night to go and watch it after housemates had goner to bed themselves.

The top 10 was a bit of a shocker.

The coverage is shocking, lots of breaking up of the picture.

Oh, the U23 coverage seemed ok. But they don't have a lot of bikes out there and Carlton was complaining about a failing relay or something.

Boylesports now paying the first 5 places on each-way bets on the road race, for those inclined..

Decided to get in on the betting action. I don't like betting that much. I don't really know how it works. But! I think I'll put £1 on 10 people. HOW CAN I LOSE?!

I think everyone is in that boat, until we see races on the circuit we have no idea how it'll be ridden or how selective the course is.
