  • The wolf of Wall Street

  • Paul Mccartney.

He was good back in the day but my god his new stuff is utter crap, when they wheeled him out at the Olympics I felt embarrassed for everyone.

  • 'Shabby Chic' - possibly the worst design of vintage furniture car crashed with awful 'Keep Calm and Carry on' signs topped off with just the right amount of tasteless tat.

  • Costa creamy-coolers, nowhere near as good as Starbucks.

  • Games consoles.

My age group (early 20s) have just started to get nostalgic about games consoles and games with their Facebook posts. All the games look crap, I can't remember any of them because I was either out on my bike, playing with hair-spray and a lighter, building dangerous tree-houses etc. I had a PS2 once and it was crap.

  • ^ +loads.

Master System was the only console I had and I would have zero interrest in playing with one these days.

I utterly fail to understand people spending £300+ on consoles. Get a life, get a bike.

  • Stephen Fry

    When will he. Just. Stop.

  • The word "yourself".
    It's "you".
You're not an estate agent, stop speaking like one.

  • Riding bikes everywhere. There is a time and a place, and they can be great, but not on weekends, evenings, holidays or when it's cold/wet.

  • ^^^"Your good self" is even worse. I worked with a dude who used to get carried away with trying to do all that "Ahhh! Good day fine sir!" shit (the kind of "banter" that people who say "methinks" use) and kept referring to himself as "my good self". Thinking about it now his derranged malopropisms might actually have been endearingly bumbling. At the time I wanted to punch his face off though.

  • The mortal sin of myself abuse

Telegraph writer in decent article shocker

  • I recall buying a console when I was a few years younger to save money on going out, figured 4 or 5 weekend nights spent in would cover the cost of the console.

Got about 8 minutes in to something and decided to go the pub.

    Utter shite.

  • Re "myself": the point is that when correcting its use it is worth pointing out the real meaning of these reflexive pronouns.

When you are both the subject and the object of the verb you can use myself: " I wanked myself off all the time, like a fucking inmate on solitary."

  • After I wrote my earlier comment I heard a colleague use the word "yourselfs"

    WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

  • "You convent of lazy nuns, always wanking yourselfs off."

  • cadburys double decker-quite possibly the Foffa of confectionery

  • I'm a big fan of invoking the language of my people and using "You" (singular) and "Youse" (pl.). For really big plurals you can plus size it with "Youse lot".

Logically it's a bit like the southern states "Y'all" which is of course singular. The plural being not "Y'all" or even "Y'alls" but "All Y'all".

Another that's stuck with me is from a friend from Middlesborough. Loved his "Us" (pronounced "ooz") for "our", as in "Fookinell I'm right starving, what shall we 'ave for us teas?".

It's all about the "teas". "Us tea" just makes no kinda sense.

  • yourself is used by the people of my heritage, the Irish, so I'm good with it
    ergo

    "a Guinness fer yourself?''

  • I read all the you v yourself stuff yesterday in work then 5 minutes later a guy wearing a used car salesman tie, you know, with the huge knot, came in and used it. He Himself looked quite bemused by my chuckling.

  • Slacklining.

    Just. Fuck. Off.

  • Had to google that, discovered its twats standing on rope. Then wikipedia gave me this gold:

    Tunelining

Tunelining is slacklining while playing a musical instrument.

  • "Training" as in training rides, training kit, winter training bike etc.

If all you do is ride to work and the pub, the fuck you need to be training for?

  • seeing her on jools just reminded me:

    roisin murphy - fuck off!
