Stung by bee or wasp, right inside the ear. Gah.
One small positive is that I've finally found out, at the age of 39, that I'm not allergic to bee/wasp stings.

"Get out and blast me one" and tells me "You'll need that crash helmet, because I'm going to knock you off your bike
If it's a choice I'd go with the first. I'd guess blasting you one isn't a nice thing but at least he'd be on foot so you could either get away or kick his ass depending on your MMA skillz.

People rarely have an allergic reaction to their first sting. It's generally only at subsequent stings that an allergy becomes apparent.
So y'know, don't feel too smug just yet. YOU COULD STILL DIE.

Yeah unless he had a sawn-off (it was in Salford). I had my kryptonite at the ready, just in case I needed to deliver some D-lock justice.

He's in a public place, not harassing anyone, taking photographs -the law says this is fine. Calling someone out is fair enough, if you know why.

I got told off for not anticipating the stopping distance of a cyclist behind me when slowing down to allow peds to walk between stationary vehicles on Whitechapel road yesterday. He even said that I was the reason cyclists got a bad rep and I should ride like a car.
Amusing and frustrating because people will really hold on to their ideas of perceived infractions even when they are totally wrong.
I did suggest he take cycle training but I don't think he really listened to me. -

Just this morning I finally figured out how to properly skid. 6 years on this forum and only after I learn that the fixie is dead do I learn to skid.
Of course, that article is from 2013. :)

Glorious day in Belfast, so great commute in. Changed saddle so now fully comfortable too, what a difference the right saddle makes.
Only slightly marred by pedestrians randomly moving about, I nearly got shoulder checked. Must make more noise.

Whales noise would be fun.

London Duathlon yesterday. Much soreness. Decided cycling in wasn't the best idea, so tubed it instead. Ugh.

• #8765
Did you do it solo or relay? I did the relay (cycling leg, obvs) with some guys from my lab, excellent morning's exercise!

That's sheep noises, right?

Is it wrong that I saw that as 'Much soreness. Lubed it instead'?

I've seen someone taking photos in that area before...

I actually got assaulted by a driver after I saw you.
I got assaulted this morning, but not sure if this actually counts as assault? A van driver was in the cycle space at the front of the lights between Amwell and Roseburry Ave. That stretch is really busy now so a lot of cyclists were giving him the eyes, as in you need to give us space (he was the only veichele and could have backed up) which he would answer in turn with revving his engine. So I said, Sorry, but you do realise your in the cycle space, he got out of his van and stuck his head into mine like he was a sunday league Diego Costa or something. Called me a cunt a few times. Then did it to the lady stood next to me. STUPIDLY, I didn't get his plates as I was little shaken up. Did anyone on here see this, now feel like I should have got the guys plates and reported him.

Solo. It was my first time doing anything like it - and I'm not much of a runner - but I just about managed it. The massive hill climb about 1.5k into the 5k was absolute torture.
Beautiful day for it though - really lovely.

I was going up Wells Park this morning.
A bus was coming down. It stopped. To take on passengers. As I neared, a car tried to go around the bus. In my lane. I stopped. They stopped. I called them out. They drove forward at me. I stayed still.
I called them a prick.I moved over. They drove on.
PRICKS.
I know. Highway code, you give way to cars going down the hill. I was going up I was in the space first.
The first one is common amongst enthusiastic hillclimbers. No idea about the second.
