I wonder how players at the higher level of rugby aren't getting pinged.
They stop taking steroids once they've bulked up enough to play at the top level. Dope early, enjoy benefits for the rest of your career. It actually makes perfect economic sense for sprinters etc. to accept a 2 year ban at age 20 because the doping benefits later easily make up for the loss of earnings earlier.

I knew I should have got on it when my mates were...

Are there any papers that quantify (or even just show) the effects years after the last dose?

There's Dwayne Chambers' race results ;-)

• #4383
Oh tester, I expected better than a sample of 1
-

Chambers ruefully reckoned he got slower after taking all the dope! He kept running very fast into his 30s though, as a clean athlete and advocate for anti-doping. Bit of a weird one, that.

Actually it's not that weird - he was just another product of the sport. Got chewed up and spat out, told the only way he could compete was to dope up to the gills, and then took a long time to get rid of his anger and betrayal towards, presumably, both himself and his sport.

Dan Stevens of Neon Velo banned. 3rd cat.
Really odd story.

That's just embarrassing!

How exactly does a cat 3 cycling holiday provider help CIRC ?
-
• #4391
Where does it say he's a 3rd cat? And how the fuck can he be that shit if he's doping? Christ. Embarrassing indeed.

Hillingdon Winter 3/4 Crits r serious business

Thats probably the highlight to my palmares, beating someone who then got banned for doping!

I've grassed you up to UKADA.

I've never failed a dope test, only failed to finish races

Why is it odd? He was cheating, refused a sample and then grassed up his dealer or fellow cheats.

I'd never fail a dope test, I'm well fuckin' dopey.

No that part isn't odd.
It's odd why he'd do it.
It's odd I didn't hear about it before.
It's odd that he had useful information that was used as leverage.
All weird.
I think a lot of them are semi-pro or young so possibly not deemed sexy enough without the big names. I grew up playing Union and a bit of League in South Cumbria, steroids were rife in the general population as well as the rugby club. Its part of the culture as well as the sport in some of those areas. I imagine its the same in Keighley.
I wonder how players at the higher level of rugby aren't getting pinged.
