  • I think a lot of them are semi-pro or young so possibly not deemed sexy enough without the big names. I grew up playing Union and a bit of League in South Cumbria, steroids were rife in the general population as well as the rugby club. Its part of the culture as well as the sport in some of those areas. I imagine its the same in Keighley.

    They stop taking steroids once they've bulked up enough to play at the top level. Dope early, enjoy benefits for the rest of your career. It actually makes perfect economic sense for sprinters etc. to accept a 2 year ban at age 20 because the doping benefits later easily make up for the loss of earnings earlier.
