You're welcome! I quite enjoyed the movie; wasn't expecting to but it drew me in.

Agreed. I thought it was a cracking film. Well done getting that from my description!

My Record Ultratorque cranks don't really spin freely when I tighten the bolt up to the required torque. I'll probably get the BB faced tomorrow, any other suggestions as to what the reason could be?

Is it possible to simply remove the granny ring from a Sugino XD2 crankset and then change the middle ring to the smallest possible toothed alternative (whilst mainlining BCD of the middle ring)?
This is in order to 'fake' a Sugino OX601D and save some cash.

My boiler is a bit odd. There are no room controls (that I have found!) other than the thermostatic valves on the rads. It seems I need to set the temp of the water in the system at the boiler rather than a room temp on a wall thermostat. Then use the rad valves to fine tune.
Any idea what that normal/recommended temperature for water in a central heating system is?

If I need my handlebars to have a bit* of stack, which of these is nicer, aesthetically?
- As little stack as possible, risey stem
- Stem matching angle of top tube, stacked appropriately?
I think 2.
* a lot

Why should you improve your physique when you could just buy a new bike, or better get a custom made one.

Yeah, it's not pretty but it is the right thing to do, just get whatever stem connects in a straight line from the upper headset bearing to the bars.

Could you expand on why it's right?

• #70995
steerer is flexier than stem

more aero :)

I'm not convinced the flex from a spacer stack is a problem in real-world riding.

Is it not obvious? If you were riding from Streatham to Covent Garden, you wouldn't go via Fulham :-)

It's as if nobody saw the 'aesthetically' in my original question :(
Anyone got any suggestions for to make this route betterer?
