  • and chainline?

  • Should be ok with the chainring in the outer position I'd have though. That's what, 46mm? MTB chainline is about 47.5, not gonna be any issues.

  • I can't really get my head around why the chainline would be unworkable. At most, it will be 2.5mm out or something?

  • alright; thanks! So I wont take frame straight to armourtex

  • They're some pretty pimp cranks to pair up with 8 speed x3.

  • Is anyone doing the Mini Enduro in the Forest of Dean on October 18th? I just booked a hotel and entry. Last year was ridiculous: mud, crashes, last stage being cancelled due to timing malfunction, everyone standing around getting freezing cold. Hoping that this year things are a tad more organised and we get luckier with the weather...

  • Has this been posted here yet? Campaign for open access for bikes in Wales:

  • I like the look of this, mainly for the retro paint job. Marin Pine Mountain 27.5+, £750.

  • Marin Pine Mountain 27.5+

Proper psyched by the 27.5+ biz coming out. I thought the Scott's looked good. That looks amazing.

Which makes me ask this question. Would anyone here be interested in in a Genesis Latitude 853 with SLX/XT/Hope/Reba for £600

  • That is nice!

  • I have a set of Manitou R7 air forks. They bottom out, ie. can be compressed all the way to the bump stop with ease (by hand, not because hippy is fat). What do I need to do to fix them?

There's an air valve on top of one of the legs, will inflating with a shock pump fix this or is it a sign of something more serious and an oil or seal replacement is required?

    Thanks

  • put some air in, maybe 90psi, see if it helps...

  • Yeah, the bike is in Poland, so I was looking for something a bit more definitive. I can buy a shockpump but if it does nothing to help then it's a waste of time if I should've just taken a rebuild kit over for the oil component of the shock.

I've never had these style of forks so have no idea, basically.

  • My money is on them needing air.

  • Hope so. Shock pumps are cheap, rebuilds not so much.

Which shock pump then? All basically the same?

  • Yeah, schraeder valve, 200psi capability (150 will be enough unless you're fucking fat)

  • You'll know pretty quickly if a seal has blown. Did they suddenly lose their pre-load?

  • No idea. I shipped the bike over a while back and it's been used by other people so anything could've happened.

  • ...150 will be enough unless you're fucking fat...

    Must. Resist. Jokes.

  • All been done before... half of them by me.

How much do you weight at the moment? :)

  • I've been on an upward trajectory for a few months. It's winter insulation.

    86kg

  • We'll weigh the same pretty soon then.

Which planetary body would you like to be named after? :P

  • Ninja.

    Dibs on NepTUNE!

  • Ninja because I went too far...

    ;)
