What's up with the Waffen SS logo?

What's up with the Waffen SS logo?
БЖСР is violently anti-Semitic too

uh oh... Controversy!
The SS logo is pretty widely used these days... Although still controversial. I dont see it as any different to putting a confederate flag on a dukes of hazzard themed build. To be fair, I have no idea what the Russian symbols mean, so apologies if it says something wildly offensive.
It can always be changed to something (slightly) less offensive if need be!

@hoops - If I may trouble you for your impressions on the road logic frame once you have built it up and ridden it. I can get a 53cm for under a grand AUD and am sorely tempted to offload my BMC and Cannondale to get it. Green paint looks great, will work well. All black bits and gumwall tyres?

@hoops Considering the Waffen SS were in charge of the administration of the extermination camps in Nazi Germany the fact that it is 'pretty widely used' does not draw away from the fact that it is a symbol that is likely to bring about some considerable consternation, especially when paired to what is essentially the same as the SS skull and crossbones motif wearing what is obliviously a Wehrmacht helmet .
It can always be changed to something (slightly) less offensive if need be!
I would advise doing this and dropping the (slightly) as well.

Sure thing.
Will have to see if i survive the first ride on it first though. I may well be hunted down and burned alive by an angry mob by the looks of things!

Generally taken to mean "Beat Jews, Save Russia"

it seems always funny to do some provocation with symbols used during the 2nd world war. but you should never cross the border to germany as it is not allowed to show this symbol (and some others from that time).
however, it isn't funny to use a logo from an army which killed 6 million jews during the 2nd world war.

Probably don't take that bike to Romania, Albania, Poland, Greece or anywhere struggling with facism.

I'll mostly just be riding it between gang fights in Liverpool.

It always strikes me as odd that Germany is so obsessed with showing that it's no longer controlled by a fascist party that it imposes criminal penalties on certain drawings. ISIS/Daesh members infiltrating Europe under cover of refugees will find themselves right at home there :-)

You'll be fine there, the Dutch still believe in freedom of expression, however stupid or offensive it might be.

It's not that simple anymore, freedom of expression ≠ freedom to insult.
It's written on the fucking stem, and you still got it wrong :-)
