  • Met the guys at Cloudwater today, they are lovely and so are all of their beers. Had the cream ale and the nz hopfen wiesse today.

  • 6 Points are coming over to the UK to make Bengali Tiger at the Adnams brewery for the Wetherspoons beer festival. Lets see if they fuck it up or not.

  • Had a bottle of Buxton Two Ton DIPA last night. Sort of enjoyed but the 11% alcohol is a bit too prominent. Went back to pints of gamma ray that were much more satisfying

  • Found a Dead Crow Bourbon Beer for 69p a bottle.

Might save it to drink as a very last resort...

  • I also splashed out on an Adnams Crystal Rye IPA at 89p. Seems a better bargain.

  • at easts on weds someone mentioned going to this

    sept 19th

  • pairings of breweries creating beers specifically for this
on an industrial estate in tottenham hale

hope it isn't just 7 hoppy pale ales

  • My ROYGBIV OCD is alarming me, but otherwise looks pretty cool.

  • Had some bottles from crafty Dan, seems to be thwaites "craft" spin off, all quite pleasant but nothing amazing.

  • Rainbow beers

  • beavertown do u even yellow

  • In the bottle shop drinking a pre-shift Buxton Yellow Belly. Still one of my favourites.

  • Some fantastic looking beers there...

  • I've been living under a rock, didn't realise I know one of the cofounders from coffee/cycling chats when I first moved up here. He's a really nice guy.

  • In other news Caldera IPA is another solid one.

  • Had a Fuller's London Porter last night. Great example of the style. Really tasty and quite chocolate-y. The best-before date showed that it had probably been sitting in the shop for at least a year, which is a good thing in my book. Pre-cellared!

  • Earl Grey IPA is back on in sandbar, I didn't have any as I needed to go play polo and I don't think I can stop myself drinking it once I start. I did a couple of something else that was quite pleasant though, brewsmith gyle 50.

  • 33 new beers consumed while in Poland, 9 in Ibiza.

  • In-Store Sour Beer Tasting

Wednesday 30th September 7.00pm-9.00pm Free Entry

The team at Real Ale Ltd want to show customers the variety and complexity of sour and wild ales and how they can provide a great alternative to hop driven ales. We will have a wide range of beers to sample, including beers from Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen and look forward to seeing you at our Real Ale store in Richmond Road where we will be tasting and discussing: Berliner Weisse, Oude Guezes, Fruit Lambics and many other rare and wonderful sour and wild ales.

Some of the beers that will be sampled on the night include:

Horal Oude Geuze Mega Blend Toer de Geuze 2015 - this year, the gueze is made by Lambic from three Fonteinen, Boon, De Troch, Hanssens, Linderman, Oud Beersel, Tilquin, Timmermans and De Oude Cam.

Siren Calypso - a tart, spritzy Berliner-style sour beer that is liberally dry hopped with different hops for each batch.

Mikkeller's Drink in Hop On Berliner - a Berlinner Weisse with a zesty, lemon aroma and tastes of passion fruit, with a crisp tart lemon edge.

Hof ten Doormal Zure - this traditional sour beer uses the wild yeasts found around the farm in Belgium. After a year of ageing in the barrel the beer is ready to be enjoyed.

Orval - original Trappist beer of the Abbey of Orval, second fermentation takes place in the bottle. An amber coloured beer with a pronounced hop aroma and flavour.

So don't miss out on your chance to taste and learn about these delicious beers. Pop in to the store on Wednesday 30th September between 7.00pm and 9.00pm and give your taste buds a treat.

  • I was giving some friends a tour of the pubs round here and the Earl Grey IPA didn't really go down well. Lots of great beer was consumed though, highlights being Howgate and Kemp (which is now in bottles!) and bottles of Jaipur for £2.49 at my local 'spoons.
