dj "No, its a parade outside some shops and cars are allowed to drive on here, there are two parked here, and here"
hbnp "But its a footpath and you are not allowed to ride here"
dj "There is the pavement, then there is a line of bollards and then the parade in front of the shops, so if it is a footpath, then its a footpath away from a road, in which case I am allowed to use it."
hbnp "But I am advising you not to ride here"
dj "Ok, but I am advising you to know the law before you start having a go at me"
I was on the phone hands free to my partner during this exchange, nod-plod looked furious when I carried on the phone call and referred to him as a hobby bobby.
