last night, at the junction of new road and whitechapel. A van didn't look/check mirrors or indicate and decided to pull across the road and into a cyclist, guy stayed on his bike, told the guy to look where he was going and to "keep it real". calmest response to shitty driving I have ever seen. kudos.

Back to commuting to work for 8am this week. Soooooo good.
8/10 would commute before the masses of knobs turn out more often.

Drawing pins in the cycle lane by great eastern/shorditch high St junction. All faith in humanity lost.

once people realised they can get away with it, there'll be a lots of them in future now and not just in sportive/charity ride.

Pretty uneventful ride this morning, saw some cows, a couple of buzzards, rooks, one tractor and one hare. Lovely sky, proper autumnal.

Is that a segregated lane? What's the problem? Did you report to police?

Saw a guy get T-boned into a plastic divider bollard by another cyclist (who blasted across a ped crossing against the light) this morning on CS7. He hit the deck pretty hard but seemed to have got away with scrapes and bruises. I hung around to give my details in case he wanted my helmet cam footage. This turned out to be more or less pointless as the offending rider claimed he didn't have a phone or wallet on him and tried to give a fake phone number, so I very much doubt he'll be coughing up any money for the damage.
Bloody cyclists something something numberplates something something insurance something something road tax etc.

I wish I had your commute.

Aye, it's not bad. 19 mile round trip, mainly lanes, bit of bridalway and about 2.5 miles of A road to finish/start. Move to Cheshire.

Puncture + large hole in tyre... but this is central London so after a 15 min walk I have a replacement of the same type. Might start carrying a spare tyre in bag.

That 20 commute home right now can fuck right off. Pissing wet fucking through.

The rain has now stopped in SE23, though I'm probably now damp enough to create my own, cloud-generating local microclimate

CS7 was feckin treacherous.
kudos to the couple of roadies who I saw demonstrating exceptional bike handling skills to stay upright.
The quality of the driving was appalling pretty much for my entire 12 miles.

Fuck me that was biblical. The mudguards, they do nothing.

Even walking home was horrible in that
You need even more space if you ride an ass.
