No worries. All sorted. Asda were able to transfer my number over to the nano I accidentally ordered.
I'm good to go. Only took 20 minutes.
Just wondering about the other sim now. Feel like I should get another just to use it. Are there any networks that do a PAYG that doesn't require you to buy a 'package/bundle' each month (like in the old days). Just something I can use occasionally (without being charged silly rates) and slowly eradicate about £30 of credit over the year? (like ppl like my Mum do).

I have another phone, one of those dumb phone as my friend Jon calls them, those that only require charing once every 2 weeks... I have a Lycra mobile PAYG sim in it and £5 have lasted me over a year. i think their T&C and I believe very similar to other provider is that the sim has to be used once every 3 months / 6 months or however long by either making a call or topping up.

Cut it down and put in the other slot in the OPT?!

Fed up with Giffgaff's abysmal call quality. I get "full" signal wherever I go but actual calls are very jumbled and distorted. 4g speeds are also about a third of what they were on ee.
Switching back today - you get what you pay for. -

Ain't they using the O2 network?
-
• #16282
Yeah. They use shitty bands. ee FTW.
-
• #16283
Really? I've had to switch from o2 to EE network due to work and I'm shocked at how poor coverage is on EE compared to o2.

Thanks. I'll check Lyca out.

Quite happy with Moto G 3rd gen 8GB .. just need to know an effective way of using the external SD card storage more than local storage.

Its a bit of a weird one. Technically, I have a stronger signal pretty much everywhere but the speed and call quality that signal is capable of is bad.
On giffgaff 4g I get about 4mb down whereas on ee I get about 45mb up and down. Also had less problems indoors with ee.
The price difference is also small enough to not matter anymore, too;
Giffgaff £12 goody bag gets you 2gb, 500 mins, unlimited texts whereas ee do a 12 month contract for £13,99 that also has 2gb data but with 2000 mins and unlimited texts. -

When I talked to Vodafone about GiffGaff they claimed (may have just been lies to try and stop me changing) that O2 prioritise their own traffic so GiffGaff is highly variable in quality depending on whether there is spare bandwidth from O2.
I'm with 3 at the moment which seems decent but not as good as Vodafone for coverage.

I think it depends on the area, I am with O2 and a friend is with giffgaff, when he is at mine, he gets better signal than I do almost always.

Worth a read: http://www.4g.co.uk/4g-frequencies-uk-need-know/
Going purely on the frequencies and amounts of spectrum that each network has EE is in by far the best position, while O2 may struggle the most to keep up with data demands, particularly in urban areas.
And then consider O2 sell-off their scraps to giffgaff...

Will any USB-C cable work for charging duties on the OnePlusTwo? I like to have about 10 chargers scattered around my flat/office/bag so I'm never without one.
Some cheap white cables on ebay.

giffgaff network is crap - but I don't remember vodafone being significantly better.
I've kind of gotten used to it.. and it's cheap. -
• #16292
Yeah I got one too. Seems decent - bit slower than my n5 and the screen is a bit meh.. but it does the job and cost fuck all.
My approach is: apps on phone - pictures, music, videos etc on 32mb SD.
I've not actually started using it as my phone, i'm still carrying a smashed nexus around and the Moto.. like an idiot. Just need to find 20 mins to swap sims and sort out all the giff gaff network sims.
Edit: just discovered the camera is a pile of shite.

I bought a couple of cheapos off of eBay and they seem to work ok. Haven't really tested them out properly but they were only three quid each...

Anyone want a Oneplus Two invite?
-
• #16296
I do
-
• #16297
Send me the email and Ill send you the invite. Once you activate it I think you might only have 24 hours to buy. Or it might last a week I`m not too sure
-
• #16298
Yes I do as well. How many do you have?
-
• #16299
Hi,
sorry only had the one.

Ok, no worries. I understand why they use the invite system but it's still a complete ball ache in reality.
I used that template when I had to cut mine.
I cut slightly too large and filed the sim until it fitted the tray. It isn't hard but it worked until I got my replacement nano.
