  • hello, I've posted a few more pictures in my flickr page here:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/bristlypioneer/

    also measured it

    Top tube 58.5 cm ctc
    seat tube 57.5 cm ctc

I'll post up more when I've had a chance to get to my laptop and not do this from my phone

  • bump,

as said above, I'm open to offers on this. There is some minor rusting on the rims and the paint has a few bumps here and there, but this is all to be expected as it is a VERY OLD bicycle.

I'm going to give it a good clean this weekend, PM me if you want to view it

  • When Australian immigration ask if you have any criminal convictions, make sure you reply "I didn't think you still needed one!"

    haha good humor

p.s not sure about lever, have u not got anything within keeping with the period

  • Hello,

I'm afraid I've not got another lever, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find one. I do have the original brake levers which are both drop bar type ones. Plus I've got all the old gear mech's and extra chain ring etc.

I've put a load of pictures up on my flickr here:

and as I said I would be open to reasonable offers.

@bikeboy if you want to come see it, when would be good for you? I'm free tomorrow evening or on the weekend?

  • Ok special tweed run discount

    I'll do it for £700

email me tonight and you could be riding it on the run :-)

  • Ok, I'm going to bump it up again on the off chance.

I'll take £600 if anyone can offer that, I realise the original price was a little too high, but it's a lovely think and I didn't want to let it go too easily.

lots of pictures up here on my flickr.

  • :( So beautiful and really doesn't need the price drop I don't think - but it's just too small for me!

  • Stick it on eBay.

People will only pay what they think it is worth.

  • It probably will end up on ebay, but I figured I'm more likely to find someone who'll love it on here first.

obviously people will only pay what they think it's worth. It's a pretty darn rare bike though, so I'm not giving it away ;-)

  • I kinda want this but mostly for the bars....

  • the rest is ridiculously nice too.
    but too big for me.

  • I kinda want this but mostly for the bars....

alas I really think it would be a crime to split this one.

"Hey! I like your nose, give it to me!"

  • This is not a site I've seen before but felt I had to join in as I used to own one of these bikes. I bought it second hand in about 1958 in Cardiff. I don't know how old it was but I think it was pretty new and in immaculate condition. It had two front chain rings (called double clangers then) and a four speed Huret derailleur, which I soon changed for Campagnolo. The rear wheel was threaded on one side for fixed wheel and the other for freewheel and I used to change regularly from one to the other but generally used the freewheel for longer rides. What a brilliant bike. It looked so good. Probably it was heavy but I don't recall struggling with it.... younger then of course! I kept it for about 8 years and enjoyed many, many miles on it including Bristol to Torquay when I was 16. Sold it to a neighbour for his boy who sadly had it stolen after about a week. Always regretted letting it go but I had a motorbike and car in the garage by then. Best of luck with your sale and I hope it goes to a good home.

  • Major bump here. I bought one of these bikes with a view to doing a full restoration, alas it's still gathering dust in my garage. The bike is complete but needs work. I'm moving house and need it shifted. Based in Yorkshire, any offers?

  • Plenty more pics.

  • Still available? I'm miles away though. I have one too but need some parts or merge them together...

  • Do you still have the old mech and chain ring? I have one of these and am looking for parts.

    Thanks
