  • Was also thinking of using this:

  • Got this frameset in.

Looking to build it up with 105 5800 f&r derailleurs, hubs, shifters, 11-25 cassette and a NIB Race Face cadence chainset 10sp. Rims I have are a pair of NOS CXP14 30mm ones (I've seen old bike with new rims, not that many newish bikes with older.)

    Parts bin build essentially.

Hopefully I can put it together before snow falls.

  • Looks great in white. Good condition too. 58cm? Was thinking the same: 105 5800 winter trainer.

This is just superficial scratching to the paint, right?

  • I forgot how good the CAAD10 is. Been using mine to get about town, really sweet frame. I love the geo it had in 58.

  • @ChrisMGS Yeah, it's a 58.

  • If I wanted to raw that frame above, like the one below, should I take it to Armourtex or could I do it myself without too much hassle? Also, to prevent rust, rub with diesel oil a few times, or something else?

  • Make sure you use the same tyres + pressure in race on your borrowed FFWD's as you are used to, to avoid surprises when cornering with what basically is a different bike than you are used to.

  • to prevent rust

    Aluminium doesn't rust.

It'll oxidise, and you'll have no protection from road salt. I'm not sure what problems can arise though – I had a raw 29er with no issues for two winters.

  • CAAD 10 race edition Force 22 arrived courtesy of insurance claim. No time to set up, de-reflector etc due to new baby arriving the previous day. Bike still looks rad out of the box. Should be able to set up and ride next week.

  • Ships with 25c tyres. Getting an Arione, SPDs and a crabon post and that will do nicely. Loving the colour.

  • Now that exactly how the colour come out.

Cannondale was annoyed that it didn't show well in their website.

  • No time to set up, de-reflector etc due to new baby arriving the previous day

    Your priorities are misaligned

  • Stubby stem on a cross country bike? May I ask why as Im thinking I may do the same?

  • Congratulations on the new arrival!

  • Oh and well done on becoming a Father.

  • ^ dad joke

  • Makes it easier to pop the front end up - assuming the frame is the right size

  • That looks ace! Never seen those racing edition ones before. Enjoy it.

Looks particularly good with reflectors, i think you should leave them on.

  • Cheeky cross post to a saddle that may interested Cannondalers:

Am selling a Fizik Arione saddle i got on a supersix.

It's got a cannondale green stripe down the middle of it, so only really suits certain bikes - particularly those with a bit of bright green on the frame!

  • Damn too slow, would have been very keen

  • Anyone out there got the SiSL removal tool (KT013) handy? I'm down in Brighton, happy to pay for postage if someone wants to let me borrow it for a day.

  • Might as well just buy one? Can't believe a trip to the post office causes less than £18 worth of agony.

  • I would happily buy one but everywhere in the UK appears to be sold out for some reason.
