For M8 there are only two "normal" pitches that it can be either 1mm pitch or 1.25mm pitch.
Obviously 1mm being the finer of the two. Or very occasionally 0.75mm pitch."very occasionally" in this case meaning "nearly always" when applied to the bikes ridden by forumengers; chainring bolt threads are M8×0.75
