  • I have the Nexus 7 2012 version an ever since it update to Lollipop it's been useless, not sure if the later models are any better.

  • ^^meh - just read that wallpapers overwrite each other so i may be fucked. balls.

  • Supposed to be more power efficient. The kicker for me was the high res screen, but on the other hand, no expandable storage. Much chin scratching.

  • You'll need to flash a new gapps package along with cm12, that should fix the 'Google play services has stopped' error, I think. Google it, should be straightforward!

  • Cheers but I'm pretty sure I did that. Gapps 5.1 should be the one for CM 12.1 I think.

  • Have you factory reset the n7 since the lollipop update? Fora tell me it is essential. I did mine today.

  • I got my new Lenovo K3 Note yesterday. Still setting it up at the moment, but very impressed. Semi-Phablet sized handset, Lollipop, 13.1MP camera, 2GB memory - £135. It is a chinese imported handset. Sellers on Amazon Marketplace and on ebay.

  • Yep tried all that, hadn't used it in a while but switched it on last night and there was a new update. Download had a 10 minute play and it seemed much better. Will see how long that last.

  • Thayll be 5.1.1. It helped for a while. I would reset post that update too. And be parsimonious with apps you install.

  • Any suggestions for SMS apps on Android. Upgraded to CM12.1 and neither Hangouts nor Messaging appear to be working. Cheers

  • Try clearing the app data in the settings. All of the app data. And uninstall and re-install. The new CM12 seems to have fucked with a lot of people on upgrade. All of my Google apps were busted.

  • 6 weeks later OnePlus still hasn't sent me my replacement sim tray and their customer service is a piss take. Once a week, I get an antomatic message asking me if I have had a chance to respond to their last comment, and if they don't hear from me within the next 5 days, they will mark the case as 'solved'. I took the time to replace to them last week saying I still haven't received the part (which TBH, I kinda forgot about it already), and they told me they will check and that's the last I heard from them. I don't believe they have actually sent anything out.

  • I use 8sms. ^

What's the best way to transfer call history and texts from one (non-rooted) android to another?

  • Super Backup has been faultless for me. I'm rooted but pretty sure it worked fine before I was rooted too.

  • Any OnePlus One user out there want a free tempered glass screen protector kit and a somewhat shit looking but yet does the job case (used for a couple of weeks) The case is meant to be clear but not really, OnePlus own case etc etc. I can post them out to you free as Royal Mail has given me a whole pile of stamps that will last a lifetime.

All I ask is you make a domation to this forum with the amount you would otherwise be willing to pay for these 2 items.

  • This may have been covered before...Nexus 5 screen cracked and now trying to unlock. Suggestions gratefully received as to the best way of resolving without new screen (decided phone has had it so likely to replace)

  • Just got a OnePlusTwo (its fucking lovely). Didn't realise I needed a Nano sim. D'oh. Can't use it.

Should I cut it down? Or wait for my provider to send me a new one?

  • Looking at a Nexus 6 before they release the new one. How quickly do the previous models disappear when the new versions start being sold?

Or should I pony up for the new one? Not a lot out there at the moment about it.

  • Cheers, Textra looks reasonable.

SMS Backup+ is decent for call log and texts.

  • Which provide you with? Usually if you walk into a store and ask, they'll just give you 1 for free. Just that cutting a mirco sum down to nano sounds dangerous and if you fucked it up, you'd end up having no sim at all.

  • Snip away, or get a shop to snip for you if you're really worried.

  • Don't laugh... I'm with Asda mobile. So no stores. And I dunno if I'd trust Asda staff anyway.

Have to be on Orange network and its a better deal than Orange.

I've found this and an old Nano sim I ordered by mistake. So I've got all I need. But I'm scared I'll fuck it up.

Gonna phone Asda in a tick.

  • Just go in any old high street phoneshop.

  • Why would I laugh? I know many people who use Tesco which is essentially same as O2... only idiots like me who bother to negotiate deals with o2 year after year. Been with them for over 10 years now...

  • I tried this on Friday after receiving my new OnePlus Two. Cutting a micro down to a nano.

    I fucked it up.

But having said that, I'm sure it's doable. I think I was just impatient, as I usually am when I get a new handset.
