I've had many Viscounts and none ever gave me a problem. Including several with the alloy forks.
As a wise buyer they are bargains, but if you wanna sell you are up against the prejudice that exists. It's the 'way of the world' it seems. People just believe what they read.... Experience is the key.

You always going to be up against prejudice over the so called 'death forks' unfortunately. I've had several with the alloy forks and never a problem.
But you are up against prejudice here. Prejudice = unreasoned thinking according to my dictionary. Quite true in my experience. On the other hand, as a buyer you get cheap bargains because of all the bullshit myths: ) I've had many, and as a buyer I know I've had many good bargains because of the bullshit surrounding these frames/forks.
I still have a Viscount Aerospace pro in storage that I've kept from new since the late 70's. I must have used it daily at the time for the best part of a decade. Lovely ride, even if the frame was too large for me ("You'll grow son"). Never had any trouble with the alloy fork, even after flying over the bonnet of a car that had had pulled out in front of me. The impact did slightly affect the fork alignment but no cracks or anything. Mind you, I did weigh 9 1/2 stone at the time, so not exactly stressing it.

I had one new myself and that's probably why I'd like to have one again. Many happy memories riding it too and I must have done several thousand miles on it before I sold it. It's only in the last couple of months I found the fork had a poor reputation!

I agree fully. I've only seen unbroken Lambert forks, never broken ones.
