Appreciate that this isn't 'guitar builders anonymous' but I imagine there's a couple of people on here who appreciate a bit of flame maple.... I spent a couple of hours in my shed earlier today on the strat I'm building.
This bit of lumber was quite expensive and to be honest, I was a bit disappointed with the grain till now. Just started lacquering and I'm no longer disappointed :] There's a lot more coats of nitro and buffing to come, but it's looking good.
I've built a few but it's the first time I've finished my own guitar, and I've massively over ambered it against what I was planning. I'm not going to sand back and refinish because
I can't bear sanding it any more and 2. I looks pretty cool against it's (olympic white) body
