It is still a horrible way of distributing the forces on to the frame. To make the rack strong enough to work like this, they over dimensioned the steel tubing and brackets. It is much to heavy when compared to actual carrying abilities.
Better off getting a Cetma cargo rack for utility duty or Soma or VO Porteur for looks...
