£SOLD: 56cm Freshly powder coated (moss green) Fuji Track, with on one wheel set (fixed/fixed 18/16t) with good contition 23mm gatorskins, 44t gebhardt chainring on 165mm cranks, fitted with new shimano BB, headset could potentially need looking at by someone who understands headsets.
PRICE DROP TO £200: 54cm Specialised Singlecross (the green one) got off flebay for ~£300 and raced SSCX a few times.
Racing was lots of fun, but the nature of the local cross league courses and the nature of my beer gut just makes it a little too much hard work and I got myself a 29er with lots of gears.
Currently built as a commuter. Have ridden it to work and back for a friend to test ride, so confident that its good to go.
Original elements:
• Aluminium frame with carbon fork, original headset and seatpost collar
• 44t chainring and cranks
• Wheels, QR/bolt through axel,
• Stem and bars
Upgrades:
• New 20t freewheel and KMC chain
• New tektro cantilever brakes and levers
• New leopard print bar tape
• New Bontrager saddle and platform pedals
• Brandless but decent two bolt seatpost
• Used 25mm Continental 4 Seasons tyres.
The good:
• Takes mudguards and rack
• Can easily and cheaply change gear inches with new freewheel (~ £10)
• Lightweight bicycle with track ends, no faffing with chain tensioner or horizontal drop outs.
• I've run this with 41mm tyres, so you should be able to get chunky commuter tyres on there no problem.
The bad:
• Superficial wear and tear - It's 7 years old! Nothing drastic, and shouldn't be an issue if this this your commuter/pub bike.
• Don't know the state/provenance of headset or BB. Basically, they work, but could probably be smoother.
• One of the bottle cage bosses has been stripped (downtube). This can be fixed, plus there asre still have two more locations for bottle cages.
• Bar tape is a little scuffed.
Can ship at your cost, though collection or delivery in Manchester preferred.
