As I said after posting my road bike... https://www.lfgss.com/comments/12488540/ it works for me :D
That kind of saddle must be positioned horizontally (looking at it's base, not at the top part) since you don't ride it like exactly as a normal one (no nose, you can go even more aero on flats... nothing stopping your ping-pong balls)
-
• #4654
Ah....it makes perfect sense when written down, but as you say in your other post, it's not pretty!
Fair play though, if it keeps your ping pong balls from receiving too much backspin! -

Obviously we reacted differently to Torq - you buy new XC bike, me want to sell mine!
Looks good - now I see the desire to do those events.
What powermeter will you use on it? #plantedtheseedforyetmorexpenditure

New genesis vagabond looks interesting.....wonder what is the maximum tyre size? Anyone know?
-
• #4658
Comes with 2.1 as a starter...
-
• #4659
Ah....I'm hoping it can go bigger.....29+ would be good!

Well, we kinda did things differently...we turned up with a marquee and a bbq and a bunch of NORCs, ate and drank a lot then pootled round with the aim of simply not dying, whereas you did a shed load of training, came on your own, killed yourself for a few laps, got on the front and looked like a serious contender.
One of these approaches is more fun :)

I won a ti Travers at SSUK last week. Unbelieveable! Anyone fancy a brand new, unbuilt 19" Dialled Bikes Prince Albert 29er prototype frame? Only four ever made...
-
• #4663
That is fucking awesome. You should keep it for yourself.
-
• #4664
I am keeping the ti Travers - that's the frame I won. It's the PA I'm having to get rid of. Breaks my heart though, but rules is rules in the Bullheart household...

• #4665
That dialled sounds awesome.
-
• #4666
It really is. It took me three years to convince Mike (owner of Dialled Bikes) to find the bloody thing and sell it to me. It's on t'bay at the moment, but for two pins I'd take the bloody thing off...

anyone have any spare 29er bits?
after quite a lot but the primary target for right now is a rigid disc fork, suspension corrected to 80-100mm. head tube is pretty short so doesn't need a mile of steerer. 1 1/8 straight steerer.
the remit of this bike is as cheap as possible so anything will be considered, but will ideally take at least 2.25 tyres.
Thanks! -

Trying to work out what to do With my 29er. Its a belt drive singlespeed.
The fatbike has stolen Winter duties. Plus I sold some of the flash bits to fund the road bike. Whats left is bulky and difficult to sell/post.
Tempted to try and monstercross it.
Basically sell my Pro II hubset, and build an alfine wheelset (obviously sanding the white off my Velocity blunt rims). Which will mean sourcing an old School gates belt cog for the alfine.
Then add dirt drops, With Hylex brakes, and a bar end shifter.Basically a lighter, faster feeling trail bike to partner the beastly fatbike.
Thought? cheapest crank, bar, brake, shifter, options?
Any other belt compatible hub gears? -

Seems alfine di2 can be had for €499 for the group set.
Could do that.
Would still need bars, stem, calipers, and crankset. But I do love di2...... -

I have a brand new Kona P2 fork, 29er suspension corrected, steel, black. IIRC I paid £55 for it but never got round to using it. Yours for £50 if you can collect from New Malden.

Bollocks to it. Can't spend all that.
Im going to strip and sell the rest of the 29er.
Must be a market for small belt driven single speed 29ers somewhere...... :-/

Paging @BareNecessities it'd be perfect for him.

There's a growing hipster market for mtbs.
Now where could you find a plentiful supply of hipsters.....
And given the front will drop a bit when loaded, is that saddle angle comfy?
