£150 will get you a basic, but decent handling On One Inbred frame
£3-400 will buy the very dependable Surly Karate Monkey frame & fork
£450 should be enough for a nice Salsa El Mariachi frame
£500 will finance a rather lovely Singular Swift frame & fork

I'll add it to your list of frames to build ;-)

No frames immediately spring to mind ( I've not looked to buy for while now ). There are decent, complete bikes for between £7-800, like the Cannondale Trail SL SS, or the Kona Unit.

There's a Haro Mary on Ebay at the moment, they are cheap. And the Vitus SS are even cheaper.

I have a Genesis IOID that I really like. Picked up off eBay for about £50. It replaced an equally satisfactory if rather more heavyweight FireEye Flame. The FireEye was also around £50 off retro bike.
The IOID more aimed at XC/trail type use where the FireEye was more aggressive/heavy hitting but actually both frames end up around the same angles when I put my 29+ front end on with 26x3-3 ½" rear.

Yes, I do like Konas.
-
• #744
Had both, Vitus definitely is the better bike! Aside from the horrible chaining that it comes with.

• #745
Stop posting Konas! I'm getting a guilty conscience about my Kona Unit that has sat in the cellar for the better part of summer (to damn hot for me to ride..)

Collection of singlespeed mbt wheels is getting a little out of hand...
Anyone want a Hope Pro 2 Trials/SS hub? Black, 32h, many clicks, very annoying to ride behind... will dig out lockring+spacers to go with it and do some photos later. £60 posted...
Update: SOLD!

Damn! I've been hunting for a cheap Hope Trials since last winter. Gave up and bought a not so cheap on a few days ago. Would take the lock ring and spacers if you would split though.

Assume there's no way it can be run fixed?
-
• #749
That'd be a shame to lose out on the manyclickytrials hub
-

Yeah I know. Such clicks, so buzz. Wow.
Looking for a 130-135 spaced hub with disc mount for running fixed on the wife's surly though.
So many beautiful bikes! As posted in the sscx-thread, I moved to the countryside recently and the All City Nature Boy I ride doesn't 100% fit my needs anymore.
Any suggestions for not-so-pricey ssmtb frames which are yet of good quality? The AC Junkyard Dog is sold out unfortunately
