Total longshot; but does anyone know a bikeshop (probs an LBS at this point) who has a pair of XL Grippp Thermo winter gloves in stock? I think the UK distro has gone bust as everyone is clearing stock and has no useful sizes.
Don't make me order them from Spain. I will, but like, it is stupid.

I know it's early in the cold season but I think this year is the year I go lobster. Anyone have there:

I have the Seal Skin lobster glove. Almost too warm.

The Handlebar Mittens?

Yes. Bought them at that Seal Skinz outlet thing somebody linked to last year. They are very nice indeed, but too warm for serious riding. I hope I will have some long slow commutes this winter so I can use them for something..
Edit: They are really nice and soft. 10/10

They the Giro ones? If so I have an older version and they're rad (riding singlespeed or with bar end shifters at least... no idea if with work with other gear changing systems...)
-

They sound ideal then. I find the forum favourite defeet merino are warm enough on a proper ride but I don't get warm enough on the commute.

Yeah that's true, it needs some getting used to riding with fx Sram Force 10sp. But you can manage..
-
• #1885
they are specialized sub zero ones: https://www.cyclestore.co.uk/specialized_sub_zero_winter_cycling_gloves_2014-ID_56900

Oh... they almost identical to the Giro Proof 100 Lobsters and I'm happy with those :)

I raved about these last year.
http://45nrth.com/products/softgoods/sturmfist-5I bought them from here:

nice but pricey

I survived last winter with 5€ Aldi gloves.
Did get cold at times. Did get sweaty at other times.
Price-performance ratio: 10/10 would cheap again. -

Aerogel, polartec, and merino, all under a water and windproof shell?
Shut up and take my money!
Unless I get drop bar pogies. The ones on the fatbike make winter riding a whole different experience.

Don't forget the goat...

I have Hestra Windstopper Trackers for cold MTB rides and they're great (with a merino liner for really cold days).
These look interesting as a beefed-up, waterproof version and not too bad at £45:

I have, opinions vary on the Internet as to their insulation vs the Lake MXZ303, which I ordered a pair of last night.

I checked my glove Collection last night (really should through out the shit ones). I think I'll stick to pogies + mtb gloves for Winter.
I'm definitely looking at the 45NRTH shoes though. The New range looks very good.

I did 2 or 3 winters in a pair of £5 Aldi gloves and they were easily on a par with my pair of £40 Sealskinz. Still get used occasionally now but are getting too small due to washing. Sadly all their recent offerings have been crap.

This lot are doing a deal on both layers of the Phew winter gloves. For £40 this seems like a brilliant deal. http://www.bike-science.com/products/phew-winter-glove-collection

Was a little dubious at first as I've never heard of Grip Grab, but had heard good things and have invested in these little blighters:
http://www.gripgrab.com/product/hurricane
Am yet to test them in mega cold or shit weather but they seem really good from first impressions. Quite thin for garmin / phone usage etc but kind of semi-neoprene so wind proof and fleecy inside, and so warm and not sweaty. Don't think they'll be much good when uit gets down below 5 degrees or so but liners will save the day.
Nice and not too pricey (via wiggle)

They do a conductive finger version now...
Yup...
