Didn't mention it because I didn't think it was applicable but when I rode off the nuts slipped and jammed the rear wheel against the stays so I had to carry it to a shop to buy a spanner. He was all soz about that too.
I'll get on that suggestion, it'd be great if this was rideable!

It was advertised as "Rides perfectly, nice and quiet. Only bad thing is the light scratches on the decals, slight rub to the top tube paintwork and a few scratches on the rims..."
Apart from which the guy is a cunt.
And a stupid one at that.
Here's the thread he started, enquiring about bottom brackets for "...my Carlton track bike... ...destroying the threads."
He deliberately mis-represented the condition of the bike and lied about being unaware of the damage. Does he even have an Uncle?
Get a quote for having the BB shell replaced and offer him the choice of either paying for that, or taking the bike back.
