Mate this is four years old.
Hello all.
Funds needed and space too so off this lot goes.
First up a 58cm st 57 tt 531cs Holdsworth Triath-Elan frame with tange headset.
Holdsworth built these as triathalon bikes originally but i used it as a tourer because of the bosses on the dropouts.
Quality handbuilt frame from a manufacturer that needs no introduction.
Paint is scrappy but the frame is sound. Seatpost bolt has gone awol.
£110
more pics of the frame here
Brooks swallow in hardcore thick leather that only started to break in after around 4000 miles. Hurts to sell this but I hate locking it up outside so it never gets used. £50
Ideale saddle with tiny tear in weatherproof material, wide as hell with 25.8 seatpin £15 or I'll keep it and make a stool.
Simplex retroshifters in great condition £18
On one touring crankset 48/34 iso brand new and unused £35
Carlton 531 frame with stripped bottom bracket
comes with 'idiosyncrasies', when i got hold of it, the bottom bracket was loose and upon inspection totally fucked. I have subsequently glued in a 115mm ita campy bb which has cured for two months and is nice and solid. Also, when I stripped it I removed the handlebars before the stem, and had trouble removing it, hence why its left in the frame. I have no idea if its seised in there or not.
Lastly, whoever installed the headset didnt cut the steerer quite enough, so it has protruded past the headset a little.
Frame comes with original forks and some dents and dings.
This is begging for someone sympathetic to heat up the bb shell, remove the bb, chamfer the edges and whack in an old mavic self threading bb. oh and restore the paintwork too.
Or, build it up as a beater and ride it as is.
£80
I also have a few bits that aren't with me right now but will list in case of interest.
Dark grey anodised pursuit bars with tektro tt carbon brake lever. I think the bars are mavic but I have to check £30
Sugino Aero Maxy Crankset £20
Sugino 53t chainring £10 (both together £25)
Sugino njs stamped 144bcd 43t track chainring £20
Weinmann Carrera 400 brake calipers, classic lightweight retro brakes. £20
Campag aero brake levers, all original, hoods fairly worn but ok £25
Shimano 7speed (i think) dt shifters great nick £10
Campag Croc' Daune hubs laced to Mavic MA40 clincher rims with loads of life left, can't remember what the freehub is but off the top of my head its a five speed block in with sprint gearing. Beautiful wheels, hurts to sell so £160
Items in IG6 but smaller items can be brought to Peckham given enough time
