Thanks - do you know where I could get hold of either in London?
Also, I only have a small sewing machine. It struggles with fat seams sometimes. Do you think that'd be a problem? I'm not very experienced at all.

Fjallraven looks like a good option.Small machine should get through 4 layers of duck I reckon. If you struggle at thicker bits, hand roll the wheel, to get the needle over it.

+1 on the cotton duck and http://www.otterwax.com/ would be nice
and cordura liner is a good idea.
