£150 will get you a basic, but decent handling On One Inbred frame

£3-400 will buy the very dependable Surly Karate Monkey frame & fork

£450 should be enough for a nice Salsa El Mariachi frame

£500 will finance a rather lovely Singular Swift frame & fork

No frames immediately spring to mind ( I've not looked to buy for while now ). There are decent, complete bikes for between £7-800, like the Cannondale Trail SL SS, or the Kona Unit.

There's a Haro Mary on Ebay at the moment, they are cheap. And the Vitus SS are even cheaper.
