I have unlimited data with 3. However, a variety of apps (Iplayer and Amazon video for example) only allow you to download using wifi.
I'm sure in the past I've seen hacks to fool phones into thinking mobile network was wifi (either apps or editing config files somewhere) but I can't find anything of that nature now. Any suggestions?

I was hoping you hadn't locked your phone's screen... Oh well...

Went to collect other parcels from the Mail Room, found that Yodel driver had delivered it, but forgot to scan it in or out of the van.
Shiny.

Put in a bespoke offer for the Moto X Play, with cashback I might be able to get it under £200. Then again just registered interest in the Storm from Wileyfox, will grab one of those if release is not too far away.

Nah, signed for by mail room staff so consequences would be incurred swiftly.

I have wifi at home so it's not essential I get round the limits, would just like to be able to download stuff when I think of it rather than having to wait.

"We are pleased to announce that the Wileyfox Swift will be available to buy online from 22nd September."
"We will be announcing the date for the Storm handset shortly. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates!"
Waiting for the storm

Actually does anyone have a Smart Ultra 6? Seems like for the specs and pricepoint it'll do the job for me absolutely fine

What's the best way to create a backup image? Just one zip file that can be restored to bring the phone back to its current state?
I remember doing it in the past, possibly through clockwork mod but that doesn't seem to be in favour nowadays.
Nexus 5, rooted, running CM11. Cheers.

Install twrp as your recovery, flashify is a good tool to flash with, guides are all over the Internet.
Then reboot into recovery and backup boot, system and data with compression on.

Cheers, I already have twrp installed but thought that last time I tried to back up I ended up with loads of files. I'll try again, possibly I didn't have compression on.
-
• #16241
Ah yeah you'll end up with a bunch of files in one folder. And then when you want to restore it, go back into TWRP and select 'restore' and it'll give you your options with the titles you gave them (time and date by default I think).

Cheers, the TWRP one worked, which was good as the update to CM12 didn't work and I had to restore the backup.
CM12 just gave loads of errors that Google Play Services needed updating but it constantly came up that "Unfortunately google play services has stopped" so I couldn't actually update it.

Did you flash a new gapps package too? If you were on cm11 before and put cm12 over the top then you'll have the old (incompatible) gapps that will crash under cm12 (as you're seeing). I've made that mistake before too...

This happened to me after a CM update was pushed a few days ago. I installed a new GApps and it still kept happening. I then deleted all data for each Google app the was acting up (in settings) and tried to update it if possible. It was a bit all over the place, but eventually everything started working without crashes.

Yes, I downloaded the correct gapps and installed through twrp. Wiped the caches, tried clearing the data for google play services. I couldn't log into my google account for some reason so couldn't update anything.
Will probably try again at some point or maybe just wait for Android M.

Caved in and bought a Smart Ultra 6 this afternoon from Vodafone for £135, got to wait a few days for a nanosim from Giffgaff to get it working properly. First impressions are great for the pricepoint, miles quicker than my Nexus 4 and the screen is lovely. A little odd jumping up to a 5.5in phone, but hopefully this keeps me going to 2 or more years.

is the Nexus 7 Tablet any good at some quick Photo editing? Going abroad for a while and really can't be arsed to lug around a laptop again (no matter how light).

I used an app the other day for photo editing that was brilliant.
Photo Editor by dev.macgyver.
Can't figure out how to link to it right now.
Recommended.

Was it unlocked when you bought it? I read a couple of conflicting reviews.

Any help please...non rooted HTC. It went mental on me at the weekend so I had to factory reset. It came back up with a photo set as wallpaper. While fiddling around I changed this by mistake. So the photo is somewhere on the phone but nowhere obvious like gallery etc - is there a way to dig it back out, some folder where it would be saved? (For some reason it hasn't backed up to dropbox etc)
Ta
