  • No, pressure treated wood. Using bearers at right angles to the floor joists minimises the contact area for damp from below. Also allows air to circulate underneath.

  • I've got pressure treated 4x4s as suggested. But the ground underneath was so uneven I had to put the flagstones on top of a load of sand to get them close to level, which is actually what the shed instructions said to do. If the sand washes away, will my shed collapse?

    If I remember rightly, it wasn't the wise man who built his house upon the sand.
