Was mightily impressed this weekend by this guys shorts which were cleverly designed to make it look like he is in fact wearing a pleated schoolgirls skirt instead.

Previously had a negative opinion about DH, had to go to a game last season for a stag party and I loved it, so did everyone else who I was with (nobody had been before either). The stag used to go there as a kid and reckoned it was way better now. Seemed more family/St Pauli-esque than hipster. Lots of liberal/left wing stickers, flags and chanting.
Definitely gonna go to some games this season. Being able to drink your own cans is a real bonus.
Pompey till I die and all, but DH are great. -

great to hear! tbh, i've only been to one match myself - i don't even football! - but similarly had a grand day out despite not knowing how the off cocking side rule works.
articles like the one that led to this ugliness are more about the author wanting his audience to know how OG he is in the face of what he perceives to be a threat to his authenticity. He then lazily appeals to a commonly accepted trope to back up his argument, as evidenced by the use of the meaningless perjorative term 'hipster'. As a result, the entire exercise is little more than a window into his own insecurities.
anyway, back to lol'ing at pics of young folks wot dress funny.

In fairness, it's a long article, and the H-bomb is only thrown twice, once when quoting a fan saying they get called hipsters, the second when the hack's saying 'The fans’ respect for the club’s past certainly dispels accusations of them as shallow, bandwagon-jumping hipsters'. Wrath, as so often, should be directed at the sub-editors.
Moar neck-tattooed melts in deck shoes and pedal pushers please.

I know exactly how you feel. Arsenal til I die but I chucked in the joys of the Emirates a couple of years ago and now go to Clapton or Orient when I have a Saturday free. Clapton have a DH type thing going on, Orient obviously more pro but still a great, friendly day out with a decent selection of lesser spotted beers in both the social club and supporters bar.

Like 'latte' and beards it's been adopted as shorthand for vapid trendwhores by people who feel aggrieved at being on the outside of something interesting

Tldr; ultimate hipster. Peak hipster. Unreal hipster. Dedication to the cause.
