There' 3 training sessions at the cyclopark. I don't think vcl are running any sessions.
I await the southnlondon cross elders to tell me I've got it wrong again.

I wonder: where can I go an see the Felt cross bikes in the flesh?
-

They seem to fallen out of favour with many dealers. My best guess is Leisure Wheels in Hemel Hempstead.

Bradford on Avon cycling fest has the Western League season opener on Sunday.
It's a short post-race trip to the Rapha Archive store if you need two reasons for the long drive.

Almost ready for my first UK cx season. Just need to zip tie cables, get some latex tubes and replace steel sliders with aluminum ones. First race for me will be 27th sept. Can't wait to meet y'all.
Future upgrades will include better tires for deep mud and hopefully the new 1 1/8" Ritchey carbon disc forks... I wouldn't mind shedding a couple grams as it ways 9,6kgs right now.

My thoughts on yesterday:
1) Weird having such short laps
2) If you go too hard, even on a small section (the hill) you might never really recover
3) You can lose a lot of time if you bin it and get cramp as a result -

1st YCCA Yorkshire league race yesterday. New location in Skipton. Proper course. Lots of short, sharp climbs and mucho off camber grassiness. Bloody hot though. Bring on the mid-winter temps. Mid table mediocrity for me, but think I was the only one on SSCX so claiming that ;-)

I was badly in the red after two laps, then probably backed off too much as I was worried about finishing. I also didn't have anyone handing me up bottles, so was gasping by the middle of the race.

Which category are you in? I'll be up at Northallerton next week for my first league race. 40-45s, probably the only one on SS, definitely going to take a shoeing.
-
• #3544
Yes, could have done with that too. Had some clubmates watching - should have recruited them!

I'm seniors, so we'll be in the same race (Vets so popular, they had to split the cat!). Not sure if I'll be able to make it to Northallerton unfortunately, but will try to get up if poss. It'll be tough SS, as its reet fast and flat. Good fun :-) if I'm around, I'll be in a bright orange "Garage Bikes" jersey. Give me a wave of you see me.

Will do. I'll be one of the small horde in Norton Wheelers colours.

I was the guy who dropped his chain on the start line and had to sprint back to the bunch, immediately in the red and had to spend a lap recovering, although at the back in the woods meant that was easy. Apologies to those behind who had to go round me at the start.
It was hard and hot, only did 8 laps, just missed out on my 9th which I was kicking myself about. Had to carry a bidon in my pocket, was too hot to race without water.
That gravel drag was a killer, especially with the grass reflecting the heat either side and it being sheltered from the wind.

Was it you on the floor with his bike on his back and wheels flying everywhere? Or was that a bit before the start?
-
• #3549
No, that was one of the Vicious guys I think. That was funny as it happened as he went up to the start line. Mine was on the whistle....less funny
-
• #3550
Yup, OK.
I wonder if anyone caught the Vicious guy on camera?
Anyting a little closer to peckham? Is there training ran at Herne hill?
