Seems to be working again after I took the film out - still suspicious though!
I think my main gripe with cheap film is that when you have a shot you're really happy with, it's frustrating that you can't really enlarge it too much due to the grain. In the same way that it's frustrating when you shoot a potentially great photo, only to find it's crap due to poor metering or inaccurate autofocus.I've had so many shots I'm happy with using cheap film and my t4/mju ii/Olympus XA etc but too many shots lost to lack of control/quality.
I'm sure I'll flip flop on this opinion soon enough though ;)
Cheers man.
Sad to hear the T4 has died!
I sold mine shortly after I got it, both because I also got a T3 and because I figured I would break it quickly given it's fragile nature.. it really is a great camera though!
I get your point about putting cheap film through "plastic cameras", though I do see really great images made with exactly these kind of set-ups.
While you do not have much of control, you can often estimate what the camera will be doing, just have to use it in suitable situations (and indeed use some other camera if it doesn't fit).
Same with film, basically.
Like that Agfa Vista shot I just posted, there's a lot of great stuff being done with über-cheap Fuji C200 for example...
