Acquired Tektro RX6 from Condor. Came home to install them and stripped BOTH (yes both) nuts of the rear brake ..

Will take it to @edscoble at LCW tomorrow morning to get them out.

They look like they will work for the clearance now just hope the cable pull works with the levers.

  • Excellent, more challenge.

    Bring it on.

  • Felt F85x on sale with Wiggle for £664!:

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/felt-f85x-tiagra-2015/

Tiagra 10 speed, tapered steerer, disc brakes, etc

  • I've been looking at that Felt, seems good value. Anyone got one, any good? Not sure I can get past the awful colours though..

  • There are two colourways...

  • Yeah kinda as bad as each other. Decided on the 'Snozberry. It's going to be mud coloured most of the time anyway!

  • You're going to need a LOT of mud ;-)

  • I fancied the army green version, but their last 57cm one disappeared from stock while in my basket, so I went for the last Snozberry one in that size.

  • But at least they taste like snozberries...

  • Great deal!

  • Looks like RX6 has resolved all the issues; great braking, clearance for 35c tyres and mudguards .. thanks @edscoble and LCW!

  • I have some 32h hubs that I want to build up for a cx wheelset. Should I go for tubular rims (Major Toms), or tubeless compatible (Hed Belgium)? Purpose is for racing. I need to be able to run low pressure in muddy conditions. Canti not disc brakes.

  • I see more grief with tubeless than tubs - but a lot of US pro's are having great succes tubeless, so the devil is in the detail.

  • Cheap deep Chinese crabon tubs

    Or stans Grail

Major Ts are nice but too shallow for mud

  • Cheap deep Chinese crabon tubs

Can you canti brake on them sufficiently?

  • Aren't stans grail disc only?

  • Braking? Doing it wrong!

  • Yeah soz obvious flaw is obvious

  • I have some Kinesis forks off my condor tempo frame which cracked :..(

Superb condition anyone want them for £80 ?

Uncut steerer and tektro mini v installed.

These forks are lovely, super stable and massively improved handling of the bike.

    Pics HERE

  • Dat HT

    Rip condors

  • very interested PM coming

  • My f85x arrived. First thoughts are it's fucking heavy and brakes are crap but otherwise rides nice. Might take the shit disc brakes off and get some cantis.

  • Mine arrived on Monday - hasn't been outside yet, cos the saddle, bars & stem need changing and the weather's been too nice for spannering.

  • For riding local trails and weekend touring, the Focus Mares Ax 1.0 2016 or Giant TCX SLR 1 2014?

    Focus- SRAM Apex, hydro brakes
Giant, SRAM Rival & hydro brakes.

  • How do you want to mount your luggage? The Mares has rack mounts.

The Giant has a recommended luggage weight of 14kg. I'm not sure why, perhaps because of the funky D shaped seatpost.
